La Petite Ferme
Most of the wines tasted here were pretty average with their wood matured Chard being the one saving grace. The tasting venue and restaurant area is what makes the place worth a visit. Quaint with great views of the Franshhoek valley.

La Motte
Budget a fair amount of time when you visit La Motte since it is a place where you can get stuck. Elegant tasting room, with couches where you can taste all of their fantastic wines. The entire Pierneef Collection is outstanding but if you’re on a budget watch out for the Classic collection Sauv Blanc and Shiraz.

Klein Constantia
Probably the best tasting experience to be had on the Constantia route… The tasting area is immaculate with an old fasioned cellar feeling. Tastings are free. The staff are friendly, professional and informative and all of the wines are top class. If your budget will allow, a bottle of the Vin de Constance is a must.

Groot Constantia
As a tourist destination, Groot Constantia is not a bad place to visit and because of this there are bus loads of foreigners there. It is also the only farm in Constantia, that I have visited, where tasting is not free and the tasting staff are rather unfriendly. All of the wines tasted were good, solid quality wines although, were pretty overpriced. If buying on a budget, the Constantia Rood is a bargain…

De Grendel
One of the best tasting venues in the Cape Town area with spectacular views of the bay and Table Mountain. Quiet and relaxed during the week. Wines are good value for money. Watch out for the Koetshuis Sauv Blanc and the Merlot.
Bloemendal
If you are going just for tasting, give this place a skip. Restaurant area didnt look to bad if you were in the mood for lunch. The tasting area doubled up as the serving area for the waiters at the restaurant… Wines were all pretty average and overpriced… Not great.
