Wine good but the reception was very impersonal. Estate well maintained and old homestead great but did not meet expectations.

Took some of our London friends there the other day. We enjoyed a great tasting in the most beautiful setting. After the tasting we went for lunch at Cafe Dijon. The setting under the trees once again stole the show. My fillet was cook to perfection. The only negative was the service. The staff were clearly not in the mood for work. Pity, as it put a damper on our experience.

Had a wonderful Sunday afternoon tasting with very personalised and attentive service. Sat under the trees in a really peaceful environment. The prices of the wines offered amazing value and quality.

Their wines are good and their service is outstanding. I managed to test the
Silver Myn Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 with Garnet red colour. Herbaceous and tobacco nose. Classical cassis and ripe, red cherry characteristics give way to soft chalky tannins.

That wa great

So we made a stop here and it was very pleasant indeed, we let the new manager make the choices of 5 wines, and i was impressed with them, the Sauvignon blanc was crispy and pleasant, so a good example of its kind then. as for the reds they went down well, the Pinot Noir and the Cabernet Sauvignon as well as the Shiraz… wines that can be kept for a while yet will be pleased now.
so an experienced enjoyed
thanks guys

Essie gave us a wonderful tasting; friendly while still imparting the necessary info about the wine. Love the unusual single varietals (Cab Franc & Petit Verdot). The Sem/Sauv blend was the standout. Beautiful estate, well worth numerous visits.

I absolutely loved the setting of the tasting room. However I felt that the service on Sunday 17 October was extremely bad. The girl on duty asked us to come up to the counter to get each wine – while the wonderful outside area was definitely the place to sit to watch the view – it was tedious to have to go to the counter for each wine. I can understand this system when a place is busy – there were however three tables and two tasting staff. The other gentleman on duty was servicing his tables and coming outside. The lady was however reading her book inside. It did not leave a good impression of the estate. It is so frustrating to see such a lack of service in our wine tourism industry. Here they have the most gorgeous tasting room, the most wonderful setting and yet a complete lack of interest in promoting the wines. A tip to anyone going in the future is that it is really wonderful to park near the entrance and then to walk up to the tasting room – takes about 15 minutes and it is quite simply gorgeous. I enjoyed the Cab Frank!

My wife and myself had the most memorable visit to Zorgvliet. Neil , the winemaker gave us the most amazing and informative cellar tour followed by the most incredible tasting.
Across the board , their wines impressed both of us immensely.
Thanks for a great day! you guys rock!!!!!

I had such a good time at Zorgvliet this weekend!! Fantastic wines, particularly the Sauvignon blanc which was great value for money. I bought 2 cases. Also their Cabernet Franc is sublime – definitely a ‘must try’.
The tasting room staff were friendly, knowledgable, and helpful – what a wonderful experience!
I’ll definitely be back….

Aubern Williams, you are a legend! Friendly, funny, natural, well informed, passionate…all the qualities of an awesome host!

This was not my first visit to Zorgvliet, but it’s my first visit to the new tasting room. I must admit that I missed the horses that was always nearby for a quick pat at the old tasting room. But on the other hand, the interior of the new tasting room is stylish and the view is amazing. They also have the best smelling restroom ever!

I really enjoy their wines especially the 2004 Shiraz @ R150. A must visit!

Thanks everyone at Zorgvliet. I love the wines and I especially enjoy blowing people away here in Joburg with the excellence and uniqueness of the Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Sav Blanc – All Awesome! Nevermind the blends etc… I have to say that everytime I need to recommend a farm to visit to a friend from overseas or Gauteng I tell them not to miss Zorgvliet. And they’re never dissapointed – They rave about the wines and the best cellar tour ever. Neil’s enthusiasm is so catching and anyone who wants to get a better understanding of wine, the process behind it as well as see how a Great Cellar is operated MUST go on a tour with him. Of course, the setting speaks for itself as well. Everyone who leaves seems to feel part of the family and becomes a Zorgvliet Ambassador…
