The tasting room was little bit too dark for me, but had nice old-school vibe. Older lady gave us tasting, she was very friendly and informative about wines. I loved their wooded chennin called Osirus. This particular weekend I visited, the bottle of Osirus was on special sale so it made the wine definitely worth the value.

Know their MCC from various wine tasting events and I love it! A pity you cannot taste at the farm and have to buy a case of 6. It seems the red wines are aimed at the easy drinking market and they have quite a few reds on sale. The unreleased WIldekrans Red Blend is quite promising. Very friendly tasting room attendant – Melissa.

Friendly tasting room, pity about being unable to taste the MCC. No whites available either. Reds were a tad disappointing. Found a lot of them green. The unlabelled reds are showing promise, but are not available for purchase yet.

Impressed with the red wines – there’s been a marked improvement since we first visited the farm several years ago. The Pinotage Barrel Selection is stunning but the ordinary Pinotage is good too. Best value for money is the Cab Franc Merlot blend. Very pleasant tasting in a rustic tasting room, friendly knowledgable hostess.

We visited one day to do a grape, juice and wine tasting. A real learning experience.

Had a very disappointing tasting here. The wines are drinkable and good value but the tasting assistant whilst a friendly chap was shocking and knew virtually nothing even admitting, “Ja, I don’t really drink wine but ‘dis here is baie lekker”.

I got to taste a piece of gold at the launch of their white wines, new packaging and MCC. The bubbly is oh so delicious! The Sauvignon Blanc was crisp and went down fine in the summer sun. I had to force myself away from the MCC bottle, which played a big roll in all the fun and laughter that we had. Definitely on my Xmas list.

We were super happy to find Wildekrans open on a Sunday afternoon. One of only 3 farms in the region that caters for the “Sunday drive to Hermanus” visitors.

We were warmly welcomed by a friendly lady that gave us interesting history on the farm and their wines. She added a relax atmosphere to the tasting room and made us feel at home.

The prices of the wines were considerably less than the other two farms that we visited and their wines were easy drinking and smooth. I enjoyed the Shiraz 2006 as well as the Bosstok Pinotage 2007. What a cool word Bosstok, the Afrikaans word for bush vine.

Unfortunately their famous MCC was not on tasting :-( but overall we had a good time.
