Tell us about your experience at Val De Vie Lifestyle Estate
We arrived just before closing time but hostess Louise graciously welcomed us in. Preferred the wines from their he second label Polo Club but also ‘had to’ try the VdV Ryk Neethling 2010 – very more-ish, but this is in the premium range. Thoroughly enjoyed the setting, together with the tasting. By the way … Happy 30th Birthday Louise, wishing you an awesome future.
Simply Class!
Before even visiting the Estate, a simple phone call to there front desk which begins with its array of choices from property management, health & lifestyle centre, events, restaurant, Polo, winery……..etc will leave one with and idea of what is to come.
I admittedly got lost on my first attempt to find the Estate but once I arrived……. It was clear to see that the bar was raised extremely high!
I had arrived at the Pavilion, running late for my meeting with Ryk Neethling(Val De Vie’s sales & marketing manager), and was greeted by friendly staff in what was nothing short of a 5 star establishment. Fortunately a saw a familiar face as well who kept me occupied till my meeting began.
Ryk was fantastic in person, a true professional! One would never guess that he was a national star…… his down to earth approach was refreshing and made me feel at ease from the word go, what a guy!
As side from it’s wines Val de Vie is famous for it Polo fields & tournaments. When you feel like treating yourself to “My Fair Lady” kind of experience then be sure to keep an eye out for their up and coming events!
A 10 out of 10 from me for sure…… ;p
Nice setting – pleasant tasting
pretty good, wines are not too bad,my fav was the syrah, but the ryk neethling is also good value for money at R95 a bottle
After Navigating your way round 3 traffic circles surounded by by a host of misplaced tuscan houses you finally get to the hidden tasting room.
The host marushan(spelling maybe wrong) was only on hey first week of work/training. She did not know much about the wines but She was very pretty and hence i was not too phased about her lack of wine knowledge. She was however friendly and extremely polite and proffesional.
The wines are a tad above average and i actually found their 2nd range more interesting than the pemier range
tasted their wines recently, amazing wines, loved the shiraz
A wine estate with a Polo field, now that’s something different.
Val De Vie is a Wine and Polo Estate in the heat of the Cape Winelands. The style of the estate is Tuscan and the wine that they produce are all Rhone cultivars.
The tasting room was fresh and stylish. Our host, MC Stander, was friendly and chatty and one can see that he has a passion for wine and surfing. (surf’s up!) The wine was great and well priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
