This is a nice winery. The tasting was in the restaurant at the bar. We were poured all three wines and were left with the bottles to read the labels etc. No information was given. We liked the wine though. The restaurant is nicely decorated with paintings hung on the wall. I liked the feature door also. The place feels modern and welcoming. Might just go here for lunch on Saturday.

Nice wines love the art in the gardens, sorry dont tell me you are the only one left in Elgin that make Cab. Smooth but not enought.

Loved the art in the gardens. All three wines are worth a taste, especially the delicious dry rose, but I didn’t appreciate the bull we were fed about South Hill being the only Cab Sauv in Elgin. Belfield also do Cab, and do it better.

Had a really good time here. The highlight without a doubt was the food by Gordon Manual. Had a great pea and mint soup starter on a rainy day.

I have been to this farm to photograph a few weddings. The wine is great and the food is delicious. Thanks for the great experience.

Beautiful farm. Only 3 wines available (Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon Rose and Cabernet Sauvignon) – all quite interesting and very reasonably priced. The views are fantastic, the restaurant (The Venue) was a pleasant surprise with excellent service all round.

What a pleasant surprise. Stopped there because it seems to be the only Elgin winery open on the weekend! The rest are either closed, by appointment only or close early on a Saturday. South Hill is a beautiful place with a surprisingly good restaurant to boot. Only 3 wines available to taste – a Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Sauvignon Rose. All very pleasant, with the Sauvignon Blanc probably the most serious of the 3. I highly recommend visiting the restaurant and having a meal. The venue is incredible.

Highly recommend staying in the seperate Pump house cottage. Check out our blog post on our stay there http://blog.travelconcepts.co.za/stay/south-hill-guest-house-elgin-valley/361/

What a perfect setting for a wedding! Extremely idyllic setting. It was hard to believe such serenity can be found so close to Cape Town. Then again, it was our 5th stop on the Elgin wine route…..but still really impressive!

The staff was friendly and the interior super stunning with some ultra cool artwork.

I can’t really judge the wine, which means I’ll have to re-visit. The tasting facility forms part of the restaurant, which was unfortunately closed when we arrived. Better luck next time.
