I will come and brag all about my experience, but it looks absolutely stunning just looking at the web images and the spa! A place I would like to take hubby to for his 40th in October!

Amazing location and definite attention to detail with the real grapes used as decoration in the tasting room. I only tasted whites but they were of an amazing quality.

Most beautiful setting at the dam, with a pool and view – you can only relax here. Wonderful red wines. A bit pricy and off the main roads – if you look for calm and tranquility, visit this top location.

Very pretty property, looks like a lovely place for a weekend getaway. The Hilltops Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc both impressed.

Not to far from Cape Town but far enough from the rush and madness of the city life. With some of the best wines available in South Africa who can go wrong. Only the best to be expected from a Winery of such high standards and quality. Take your wife and go down to Rosendal Winery & Spa fot the most romantic and unforgetable experience ever. Remember they do more than just the Spa and Retreat. visit http://www.rosendalwinery.com for more information. My personal rating is 10 / 10 looking forward to visiting them soon

When you arrive at Rosendal, you are immediately drawn in by the beauty and tranquility of the winery, and you feel like you are leaving your reality behind and stepping into a calm serene wonderland.
From the decadent meals and luxurious accommodation, to the de-stress Spa options, and of course not forgetting the opportunity to taste the magnificent wines , Rosendal Winery truly is a magical experience. The Wine, in particular the Barony Sophie is of such a high quality, arguably the best red wine we have tasted, you will be doing more then just taste testing, you will welcome the opportunity at the end of the day to settle down to watch the sunset with a bottle of the best
After your stay at Rosendal you will feel pampered, revitalised and ready to return to your reality again, Their motto says it all “we know that one and every customer, and one and every order is our only guarantee for a successful business tomorrow.”

I would so love to go and see this place!!!! Have never gone further than Natal in this country of ours and I’m sure this would be a great start to the expanding of my personal borders!!!!
Coming back to “spit or swallow”…spit is a waste of good wine plus It’s very unladylike!!!!! Hahaha

Just had my first glass of Barony Sophie 2006 – loved it. It is the perfect wine to share with friends and family at the dinner table.

Rosendal Winery, what can I say!! There is not a shadow of a doubt that you will love this place. It’s far out – about 2 hours from Cape Town, but that is just the best part – no-one to bother you, while you enjoy wine, food and the delectable fingers of Cheryldeen, an amazing masseuse with skill beyond compare.

The wines are a cut above most wine farms. Especially the Barony Range – notably the Sophie 2006. Lots of dark berry, that’s what the tasting guy told us. And that’s exactly what it tasted like. I loved it.

Regarding the accommodation, I stayed in the Farm House. Pretty little patio with amazing views, and all this while thinking about the tasty lunch I had just eaten. And, of course, the future massages from Cheryldeen. They use grape seed products in the spa, you know…

WOW, where do i begin to tell the story of how sweet life can be………..At Rosendal.
I went to the winery for the day, with my friends and it was absolutely incredible what a beautiful place to spend time. There wasn’t one particular feature or part of the day that i enjoyed the most it was an all rounder.
Although saying that, drinking the Hill Top Merlot was amazing.
I will be back to visit this little diamond in the rough…..very soon.

Rosendal Winery and Wellness Retreat (Spa) in Robertson is an immaculate hideaway, and having seen what there is to offer, I can highly recommend them, as well as try my best to persuade others to get some of the action!

The wines are fantastic! I found out that the winemaker is Archie, who makes stunning vino out of prime grapes, white, red, you name it! Not only is there wine, but coffee too – and a restaurant full of scrumptious food!

Geir (who is certainly in top gear!), the owner I presume, was really lovely, and even showed us around a bit, even though he must be very busy with such a great establishment. After relaxing at our Spa Suite and having a good dip in the pool, we retired to the Spa for treatments. It must be said, I don’t recall having such a good massage in a long time. Sheryldine did amazingly well and I felt really calm going into the plunge pool afterwards.

But hey, this is a wine review website – and I haven’t spoken enough about the wines – amazing! Archie and Geir sure do their thing well. We liked the Rosendal Wild Blue Yonder 2006 the most, and left with 4 cases!

I wasn’t surprised to see Rosendal at the top of the list when I came to this website, and I will only become surprised if I see it drop below the number 1 spot. Go see them at rosendalwinery dot co dot za.

Jess

Oh …. this is where we met the moffies from Adamsappel!

The cellar tasting room was a special touch. Not too cosy and stuffy with a nice vibe. The patio, leading out to the waters edge with water foul carving lanes on the surface was also nice and the wines … sorry, by this time they all tasted the same. I do recall that their red wines being above average.

(*www*)

Love the owners, great people which will transcend into any great culture / resort. They always say look at the people running the show and that will set the tone. This is no exception! Love everything that I’ve seen.
