A place of it’s own – I experienced wines which stand up to the highest expectations. Every single wine tastes like the true passion that wine-maker Nick Gebers puts into his masterpieces.

The Post House Winery was so far my one and only wine experience where I was blown away by every single wine. Even the 2 blends(blueish-black and blueish-white) will indulge your taste-buds and soon become your favorite everyday-drinking wine.

Don’t miss a real down-to-earth wine experience.

There is no better wine experience than tasting in the cellar alone with the assistant wine maker during harvest. You get to see what really goes on behind the scenes.
Dirk the assistant who is doing his 1st harvest after university gave me an informative tasting of the whole range and i must say the wines are on a level of their own. great wines accross the range with a crazy almost wild merlot that deviates from the norm.
Well worth a visit

Time to go rurally domestic. Post House was someone’s house, I’m sure, and it felt like I was soliciting for free wine. Nonetheless, we herded into the crowded tasting room to taste what they had to offer. Chaos ensued as glasses pushed by and we were lucky to taste two of their wines. I retreated to the Bonsai garden instead to admire the art of trimming dwarf trees. Will definitely try to go back to get a ‘normal’ sense of this farm.

This was another one of our stops along the Helderberg Festival. The tasting staff was very helpfull and the wine maker was also there to say a few things about his wine, as well as get the tasters (drinkers) opinions on his wine. Well, here’s mine: I really enjoyed the Penny black as well as the 2008 Chenin. The Shiraz is good wine with an orange chocolate nose and taste. The 05 Cab scored well with me and the soon to be released 07 looks to be good, but is obviously still quite tannic. The Merlot was a little less “lady like” than most of them tend to be, which I liked (not that I dislike the softer type). And lastly… the Blueish black was average to good.
Overall ==> 7.5/10
Going here wouldn’t be a waste of time, so… Enjoy

Our 4th destination during the Helderberg Festival. I enjoyed the Chenin Blanc 2008 and the Penny Black. Did not taste any other wines, cause the tasting counter was overflowing with thirsty wine lovers. Would love to go back to try the other wines, cause I’ve only heard good things. Also like the Bonsai trees. Very pretty.

Wynproe maak jou honger.
