Noble Hill is one of my favourite farms and never disappoints. All the wines are of an exceptional quality particularly the 2010 Chardonnay and the 1674 Blend. However, the cherry on the top is having a meal at Cosecha. Not only is the setting very romantic, but the food is definitely the best mexican cuisine that I’ve had in South Africa.

Jeanine, thanks for your message: I am sorry that we weren’t able to accomodate your desire to fish in our dam. Fishing is only available with an advance reservation, and I wish that our staff had explained this to you in a more thoughtful manner. Please accept my apologies for this misunderstanding and we will ensure through staff training that our fishing policy is communicated to guests in a clearer, more transparent, and more accommodating way in the future.

Message brought over by poor waitress was a message from the owner ” still nope nope nope! What happened to exceeding the customers expectation? The Mexican food at Cosecha Restaurant was the best and most authentic I’ve had in South Africa. The service was a bit patchy but the staff were friendly.

The 2010 Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc were very drinkable, as was the 1674 Estate Blend.

I liked that the manager was so attached to the Estate; he was able to point out the vines where the grapes had come from on the farm, talk about the soil, and explain how it affected the wine. It was clear that he loves the place, what he does, and takes pride in ensuring that is guests enjoy their visit and the wine.

We were sent to Noble Hill by a local from Cape Town, who told us we HAD to have lunch there accompanied by the Sauv Blanc. Local referrals are always to be trusted, and Noble Hill did not disappoint. The beautiful property had a laid back breezy southern California feel to it, lunch was delicious, staff was great, and the wines were excellent. We bought several bottles and I don’t think any made it home with us. We did not want to leave. Thank you to Kristopher & JP for a wonderful afternoon. No spitting here!!

My wife and I are both from California and Mexican food is a staple of our diet. Having lived in Cape Town for the past 4+ years we’ve tried every sad attempt at Mexican cusine here in Cape Town. Noble Hill is by far the best Mexican cusine you can find anywhere in Cape Town. While we came for the food originally we’ve found so much to love about the wine farm itself. The staff is exceptional, the wines are very nice, and the grounds are imaculate, and it’s very family friendly. I really can’t say enough good things about Noble Hill!

I recently had my first experience with South African vineyards and Noble Hill was the perfect end to a great day of tasting. The farm itself is stunningly beautiful, the wines and olive oil at the top of their class and, of course, there is no better host than Kris to complete the experience. I’m not generally a white wine drinker but the Sauvignon Blanc here changed my mind. My friends and I also all came away with bottles of the 1674. Looking forward to finding Noble Hill on the shelves in New York!

Alex, I am truly sorry you didn’t have a better time. I have great respect for Dombeya and have been happy to have been represented in Cape Town together until last year. Riane and I have tasted each other’s wines together on several occasions and I’ve always learned a lot from the experience. We try hard to make everybody happy at Noble Hill, as I hope you’ll see from the other comments on this page. I must respectfully disagree with your characterization of our wines. To make a blanket statement about a specific technical fault on a whole range of wines from different vineyards, different vintages, and with different oak regimes is outlandish. I hope you’ll come back sometime; I’d be happy to taste the wines with you and Bernard and discuss your opinions about the specific characteristics of each. Please feel free to e-mail me at kristopher@noblehill.com

Enjoyed a lovely lunch at Noble Hill on Sunday. Interesting to have a “Mexican” menu at a winefarm, but I really enjoyed it. The food was great and the bottle of Sav Blanc that we enjoyed was equally delicious.

My only (minor) criticism would be that it’s a bit of a pity about the road noise at the restaurant, although I am sure that when it’s busier inside, it’s probably not as audible.

A hidden gem, tucked between Kanonkop and Paarl Mountain, Noble Hill produces single-vineyard estate wines, made to reflect the soil, climate and geology of the Simonsberg area. Using beetles and ducks for pest control instead of chemicals, and nitrogen-enriching cover crops instead of fertilizer, the result is a sustainable ecosystem that supports diverse flora and fauna.

The last stop of the day was Noble Hill, and my-oh-my, we really saved the best for last . . . !!! I gave this farm a 10 as it sets the standard of what the industry (wine farms) needs to strive for in the service they offer to the passer through. I’m from the hospitality industry and was thinking of sending some of our staff here.

The farm’s garden was neatly and superbly kept, the tasting room nicely laid out and ambient, and the ‘Gentleman of Vino’ (Chris?) . . . awesome, a true host!

I enjoyed all their red wines and even some of their whites but what stuck with me the most was the experience and that is what a trip/tour through the winelands are all about. We even got to learn (Education Bonus) of the 6th sense of Umami (I call it the braai sense) look it up on Wikipedia or visit the farm instead, you will not be disappointed.

It was extremely difficult to decided which wines to buy this time around. They were all great and affordable, but with a swiped through credit card, I had to make a decision. I decided on: The Noble Hill Viognier 2007, Noble Hill “1674″ 2005 and the Noble Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2003. I must say, I was super happy when I arrived home to still find a 2005 Merlot in my collection. I opened it immediately in celebration.

Love the packaging of their wines as well. It looks better than any Louis Vuitton.
