Always a pleasure to visit. Their tasting room feels real. Free-Run Pinotage was my find of 2012, try it, its delicious
Sat in front of the fire, tasting their wines, very friendly atmosphere, will go back for their Boerebraai some time.
This wine farm is on my doorstep and decided to try the braai restaurant on Sunday. Beautiful location with plenty of space for the kids to run around. Their ‘boerebraai’ offering is good and the tasting location is warm and friendly. Momberg special blend is the highlight.
Beautiful farm with lots of character.Friendly tasting attendant. Will go back for the boerebraai over the weekend. Best wine is the Momberg special blend.
Oh and look out for the ditches in the road.
Beautiful estate with “boerebraai” every weekend. Friendly and spacious tasting area. Wines so so, with the highlight being the Momberg blend.
what a lovely surprise! as you drive through the papegaai berg residential area you come across one of the most inviting tasting rooms, and a place you just feel like chilling out at a bit..the wines are all very good, especially the cab
Next time you drive past the Distell traffic lights, stop and turn right (if you’re heading to Kuilsriver, else left). Situated not too far from that main road is Middlevlei. Their wines are good and the staff is friendly and best of all, you don’t have to drive out of Stellies to get there as its right by Onderpapagaai Berg.
Great farm with some exceptional good white wines
….. Been there a few times….
very simple setting and the wines are brilliant examples of each of their respective varietals. We were lucky enough to get some of the export wine on special. And yes I love specials
Cows in the field, ducks at the pond. It feels as if you are out in the country and on a farm when you visit Middelvlei.
Our host, Hetster Gikas, was friendly and made our tasting there enjoyable. The interior was warm and friendly and there had fresh hand picked flowers on each table. They had one white wine and five red wines on tasting and they were all well priced. They were also the first farm in South Africa to produce the Pinotage and Merlot Blend.
PS: Beware of the speed ditches as you drive up to the farm.
