Not too impressed by the wines and really expected a bit more from the diamond collection Chard.

I revisited Lutzville the other day to take some photo’s for their profile. Lydia was top-notch as usual and she did a great tasting with me and a “don’t know anything about wine” Gautenger. It was great fun and I’m sure the guy left with a few boxes.

She shared an interesting fact: for every 3 bottles of wine that are sold in Russia, one of them will be from Lutzville. Wow, now that’s impressive!

I never knew that vineyards can grow in the middle of a river, but in Lutzville it does. Situated on the Olifantsriver it`s a magical place with awesome and very reasonably priced wine. On Saturday mornings Luztville Vineyards have a small market were you can get anything from veggies to jam….and there are no prices on the goods, you just pay what you think it`s worth! Our friendly host Lydia is very passionate about wine and she gave me quite a few life lessons. I absolutely loved her! One of the rules at Lutzville Vineyards is that you are not allowed to spit the wine, so there is no spitting facilities. Bonus!
