Had to climb a gazillion steps to get to the tasting room … phew! Certainly not wheelchair or disabled person friendly. Wines tasted were OK, but did not have a wow-factor for me. Highlight was meeting winemaker Irene Waller who took our large group through the cellar, where we watched her staff de-stalking and sorting grapes. Saw how they transported a s/s bin full of grapes by crane, and dumped them into a s/s tank. Amazing how a visual experience like this enhances one’s personal view on appreciating wine. Not a great tasting, but a wonderfully rounded experience.
Very average.
We went past this farm as part of an amazing race. Cannot say enough good things about the host Daphne. Friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent quality wines. A great experience and highly recommended
I’m a sucker for a French-style courtyard so I liked the look of the tasting room area from the word go. It was a bit chilly inside on the first real winter’s day and no fire, but a warmly welcoming young man gave us a friendly tasting with enough information to keep us interested. i was impressed with the red wines, especially the flagship red blend.
Realy nice wines and also a nice white wine . Bought a 2003 magnum of there Bordoux blend.
Why have I never been here before??? Great wines (tasted the reds) presented by the very capable aand friendly Daphne. Then Marius Lategan took over and lead us into the cellar for a barrel tasting – what a guy! Tasting room & balcony is beautiful – good blend of modern & old-school.
Awesome experience here. Personal attention from wine maker Marius Lategan. Tasting outside on a private balcony feeling as if you are sitting smack bang in the middle of the vineyard. Was extremely impressed with quality of the wines as well.
Sitting outside on a private little balcony, looking onto the Franschoek mountains, tasting some great wines (pity their Chardonnay was sold out) and being introduced to them by a friendly host was a great way to start the long weekend. Love the Shiraz.
The new tasting room is brilliant. Big but yet cosy. Great wines. I liked yhe shiraz viognier blend. Grant the attend was full of information and friendly! A must visit!
different tasting room to most farms. very neat and the couch by the fireplace is the best thing ever. We had a very friendly and chatty tasting with the lady there. Too bad the wines were not at the level we expected we think they were a bit flat maybe had been aired a little too much
On our arrival we were welcomed by Daphne Stevens. She was friendly and chatty and made us feel right at home. The fireplace contributed to some extra atmosphere and it’s an awesome spot for those rainy days.
The wine was good and my personal favourite was the Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 @ R80.
Well worth a visit.
Small and intimate. A real nice little find
