My first stop after a loooong drive from Cape Town. Here, dad makes wine and mom makes olive products. The fact that family values are deeply instilled here is evident in the family prints on the wall. The warm tasting stood in stark contrast to the cold, non-forthcoming tasting room attendant. There was no interaction from her side and I found myself having to drain the information from her. Other than that, I had a lovely time at this farm and their wines wasn’t bad either.

The cellar is what cellars should look like. Cool but warm to the soul. I love Kloovenburg wines and their olive products. Their chardonnay and shiraz are great and if you can lay down the shiraz you’ll always end up with it doubling the pleasure that you got from in the tasting room. They age beautifully

Nice tasting room at the Pasterie. Hosts were infomative and friendly and the quality of the wines were very good. Enjoyed the barrel fermented chardonnay and the Eight Feet the most but the shiraz was also good.

Well set tasting room with a very chilled ambiance. Our host was as relaxed and inviting as the tasting room. We got in and only started tasting about an hour later coz we got carried away tasting all the olives.
The wines are a step above good and once again its chenin and shiraz that stand out

Pretty property. Tasting room was bustlng on Easter Saturday, two hosts (one very sweet and friendly) were kept busy seeing to all the guests. Liked the unwooded Chardonnay. Impressive range of olive products from infused oils to olives to tapenades and body products. Nice outdoor seating under the oak trees.

Lovely estate with a bustling yet friendly tasting room. Look out for the excellent Shiraz and a very good Chardonnay. Also for interest sake, look out for the off dry, naturally fermented Chardonnay. Lovely with spicy food.

Loved the beautiful cellar, great display and delicious wine and olive products. The service was great and we were made very welcome. Would definitely go back. Pity there is no outdoor space to relax, sit and taste wines though.

The experience left a bad taste in my mouth as I was left feeling like I was an inconvenience to the tasting room lady. Not for me. Maybe another visit would prove diffirent.

Kloovenburg is situated in the breathtaking Riebeek Kasteel valley. They are very well know for their great olives, but that not to say that their wine is not good. It’s actually very good.

They planted their first olive tree 18 years ago. They wanted to keep their farm workers busy right trow the year and not only during the harvest season. Great thinking I would say, because their olives are amazing. They have a bigger selection of products that our Deli on the corner. They have a huge variety in pestos, olive oils, chutneys, dukkah, jams and even body products. My personal favourites were the Parmesan infused olive oil and the olive chutney. Yummy!

The tasting room is beautiful and creates a great atmosphere. Our host, John Sales, was friendly and made us feel right at home. Well worth a visit.

We visited here on an extremely hot day in December. The cool tasting room was very welcome. Great tasting. Bought a trio of Shiraz’s – Sparkling (excellent and bone dry), white from red (very good rose) and their red shiraz! Also came out with a variety of olives, tapenade, and body products!
