Very friendly and knowledgeable service. The view is beautiful. I’d definitely recommend ordering the cheese platter – it’s a stand-out! I wasn’t so impressed with their whites, but the Hidden Gems, Hidden Secrets and Lands End Syrah were all exquisite.
Hidden Valley is one of the most beautiful wine estates in Stellenbosch. I was lucky enough to get married at Hidden Valley last year and the experience and service was world class from start to finish. Our friends were blown away by the view and food. Not only are the wines good but the restaurant Overture is one of the my favourites and it’s not surprising that they are on the Eat Out Top 10 list. I will never get bored of this place and it will always hold a special place in my heart! Keep up the good work guys!
Beautiful views but it would have been better if the staff were more aware of being there to receive and welcome visitors rather than having to keep calling the staff to bring the next wine for tasting.
Sjoe, what a beautiful place. Service was very friendly and informative. Wines are good too.
Beautiful place, fantastic views, great wine and friendly service. Well worth a visit.
Hidden Valley is indeed a hidden gem, and well-worth the trek up the mountain. We were served by Sune’ and she made our visit so much more special. We tasted their Sauvignon Blanc, both the Land’s End and the Hidden Valley, and she could tell us everything from the vineyards soil characteristics to what food we should have with it, most informative!Beautiful view, beautiful wine and fantastic service.
One more thing, the young lady that helped us was very informative, she made the tasting very interesting. Thanks
Stunning views, really enjoyed the wine and chocolate pairing.
i love the tropical fruity-ness in their sav blanc….rest of the wines are just average but the pinotage stands out
Fantastic, Great wines and Great Views, not to mention the wonderful people….
HEllo .. The new wines is out and “LEKKER” . Thank you HV – Team.
What good wines especialy there Pinotage and dont forget there white wines.
Nice views and setting. Very cold host who knew nothing about the wines. Wines were nice but nothing stood out
This was my 3rd visit to Hidden Valley and I’m still not bored. Sune, our host was friendly and chatty, which contributed to a great experience once again. We enjoyed some great wines during our tasting. The Pinotage was one of my favourites.
Thanks to the security guard in the parking lot for pointing us in the right direction in order to complete our task. If it was not for him,we would have been lost and wet-wet-wet.
Seriously insane views from the patio and tasting center, very friendly and knowledgeable staff taking us through the tasting, with the Hidden valley Bordeaux blend being amazing and the hidden valley Pinotage just as good…
the Lands End Sauvignon Blanc was really good too.
will plan a visit back here again sometimes to try out the restaurant as the food their looked great!
I have visited this estate before and must say something is lacking these days, what happened?
The tasting room at Hidden Valley is amazing, as is the view. Very modern and chic. Wines were also excellent – their other label “Lands End” from the Elim vineyards near Agulhas is quite distinct from the Stellenbosch wines due to the maritime climate – you can almost taste the sea in the Sauvignon Blanc – really lovely. The rose was also great. On the red side – I really enjoyed the Hidden Valley Pinotage.
I can’t comment on the tasting room or the view (haven’t been lucky enought to visit yet) but the Hidden Valley pinotage is sublime!
fantastic tasting room and an insane view. Too bad the wines are not on the same level
Wow! What a view! I’m pretty sure I spotted my house from the outside patio.
I loved the modern and stylish look of the tasting room. I also loved the wine specials. We paid R20 for a bottle of easy drinking white wine, called “Hidden Agenda.” I did not know that R20 bottles existed in this region.
We had 2 people attending to us. Our first host was not really informative, but he was friendly and good looking. Our second host was informative and friendly.
The cheese platters looked amazing, but I thought it was a bit pricey at R200 for 2 people.
Nonetheless, we had a great experience and a visit to Hidden Valley should be on your “to do list” if you haven’t been there.
Most definitely the best view and a stunning Shiraz. The restaurant is a tasting experience and worth a visit!
