Lovely venue but the wines are too ‘new world’ for my taste – big, hot and sweet. Alcohol sugar bombs.

Excellent farm. Took them a bit long to get interested in us but after they did I thought that the quality of the wines for the price was very good. By far the best Malbec I have tasted in SA and the SMG and Lapa Cab Sav were excellent. The fronteir and shiraz at R65 is a great value for money bottle.

Great tasting room vibe on the couches! Made us feel very welcome. Good wines. Beautiful view…

Wow! Can I turn this place into my home please? The view is absolutely awesome and I already know where the jacuzzi and the overflowing pool should go!

The service was sufficient, that typical 5 star hotel vibe. The lady who served us was friendly and supplied us with a book full of tasting notes and info and answered all our questions when asked. Some of the staff did appear a bit robot like and impersonal from a distance, but I guess that’s what most people expect out of 5 star hospitality – be friendly, kiss my ass, take my order and disappear – which will turn me into a robot as well.

I enjoyed all the wines and if you don’t have the $ to buy Mr. Ernie’s wine across the road, this is probably a better spot for you…and me, starting at R60 a bottle and moving up to R185. The SMG and Lapa Cab Sauv were yum at R120/R185, but the 2007 Tannat Malbec stole my heart at R150. We bought one to keep for a few years but ended up drinking it 5 days later. It tasted even better than at the tasting room!

Guardian Peak took me by surprise and impressed with it’s beauty and wines. Will definitely go back for more.

Fabulous wines but shoddy service…not my fault that they were busy.

Good wines, but avoid during the holidays… its a zoo then.

Great shiraz. Very nice cellar. The tasting team were al friendly. The restaurant’s also great, with nice food and wine pairings. A little bit on the expensive side though, but nice!
