Nice and simple layout of the tasting room/restaurant. Many people recommended us to eat at their restaurant but unfortunately we did not dine due to lack of time but would love to try someday. The white blend semmillon was GREAT and I also enjoyed their syrah.

Beautifully located on the N2 just after the Hermanus turn off. Its good relief and makes for a good reason to stop over after an hour drive.
The tasting room and surrounds are kept in pristine condition. Marianna the tasting room host at first looked like she was dreading working on a saturday morning.
She presented us with the R30 tastings and as we progressed she warmed up and we all started to enjoy and chat away.
Only the semmillon stood out for me unfortunately the viognier was sold out
Their bathroom was clean and kept in good order
Definately worth the stop

I love Gabrielskloof (but I am biased) – their The Blend has to be one of my favourite wines, but I’ll admit I’m a sucker for most things with a good dollop of Cab Franc.

They have my favourite Viogner. I really like it a lot!

We were welcomed by the owner’s daughter. Nicolene’s energy was electric and contagious and the setting was like a breath of fresh air mixed with a bit of mystery. The place is slick and modern, yet homely.

Their olive oil is my most memorable to date. It has this bit of bite to it. Extremely tasty and best enjoyed ON IT”S OWN – this must say something….

I really enjoyed each and every wine on the list. It was like tasting passion.

Best part, it acts like a pit stop between Cape Town and Knysna. It’s situated in the N2 and tops any restaurant on route.

I have been informed by the farm that the security guard mentioned below is an entrepreneur who is acting outside his stipulated job description. Actually hysterically funny. Makes me like the farm even more that I can experience Africa there!

Hi Hennie! Definitely not Gabrielskloof policy… seems like our security guard has been taking chances. Not cool. We’ll sort it out tomorrow. Thanks for pointing that out, and thanks for the visit!

Lovely place next to the N2. Good tasting with especially the white Bordeaux blend Magdaleen impressive. Small note that irritated – on the way out we were presented with an invoice for R5 by the security guard for parking… do you seriously charge for parking on a farm or was he taking a chance?

Great Bordeaux blend! Good olive oil @ a good price if you bring your own bottle or just use an empty wine bottle or 2. Beautiful setting.

Stunning setting in Bot River, today was our second visit to the Estate. We enjoyed our tasting done by the winemaker himself, Kobie Viljoen. We also met the owner of the estate, Bernhard Heyns and his daughter Nicolene.
Our favourite was the Red Blend and the Viognier, but the Rosebud was also delicious! The olives and olive oil tasting were also great. We followed our tasting with lunch in the restaurant, which was outstanding and highly recommended.
We are looking forward to our next visit!

Think it’s time to write something.

Been to this farm 3 times.

I love the setting and layout of the cellar, just brilliant, and beautiful.
There’s alot of beautiful views of the mountains.

Now for the wine:

Sauvignon Blanc 09 = marvellous with alot of green flavours.
The Blend 08 = Bordeaux blend, just brilliant, needs maturity though
Shiraz 08 = mmm, bit young but lovely
Rose 2010= brilliant rose
Viognier = brilliant, lots of fruit
Had a taste of the Five Arches red blend, brilliant, cant wait for the release.

And last the Magdalena, a semillon/sauvignon blanc blend. Just brilliant, green flavours, asparigus, can wait to buy my first bottle!!!

Thanks Nicolene, service was great!!!

A definte must visit, will do so again quite soon!!!

Beautiful new addition to the wine scene. Stylish tasting room, friendly hostess. The wine range is still small – only a Sauvignon Blanc and a red blend available to buy but we were able to taste the Rose too. All delicious and fairly priced. A winery to watch. Oh and there’s excellent olive oil on sale as well.

Had a great tasting and cellar tour given by the owners daughter. The cellar is state of the art and absolutely beautiful. Being their first vintage the wines were young but still drink, and are priced, very well and should develop nicely over the next couple years. Watch this space as future vintages are sure to get better and better as their vines age.
