After visiting 6 farms Fryerscove was the perfect way to end a 2 day tasting spree.
The tasting on the pier is a unique idea and the grilled seafood was excetional value for money.
Grieke was also loads of fun and full of energy. Unfortunately the 2010 Pinot noir was sld out so had to settle for 2011.
Absolutely love their new tasting room in Doornbaai. Definitely the most unique and you can even taste your wine on the jetty. Very nicely done, felt a if I was siting in paradise. Their wines are tasty and well priced. Will go back again and again.
Definitely the most unique tasting room – on a jetty! Using the sea to cool the water around the steel tanks, during the wine making process – clever idea. Wonderful hospitality as well
My goodness! Got the surprise of my life tasting at the new tasting room at Doring Baai. This has to be the most uniquetasting room in the West Coast. It looked like it was out of a film set. Had fantastic personalised attention from Gairtjie. Wines were luscious too. Spent a while watching the locals catch their fix of crayfish. A ‘must do’ experience. West Coast individuality.
Die lekkerste werkplek in die wereld, reg langs die see.
Got into big poop with the B&B where we stayed. Went for a quick tasting with Jan Ponk and came back after one. Need to be out at 12.
Had a personal tasting with Jan Ponk at the Strandfontein vineyard. Epic. Make an appointment. Set aside the day. Kuier. And become a fan. Pinot Noir and Sauv B to die for.
Hidden away in the Vredendal valley, it felt like we were on an episode of the Amazing Race and thank goodness we found it, because it was totally worth the mission! The actual vineyards are in Strandfonten, but the owner invited us to his farm house outside Vredendal, were we had a personal tasting next to their swimming pool. The wine was out of this world. Fryer`s Cove is definitely one to remember.
