Friendly service & lovely restaurant – food is great!
This Black Oystercatcher is so pumped out they even have a pool where guest can cool off in! What I really liked about this place was the unpretentious beauty that it displayed. The tasting facility and restaurant were cleverly renovated. The restaurant was pretty full and if we weren’t press for time I would have loved to stay and enjoy a long lazy lunch. Next time for sure. The lady who did our tasting was friendly and informative. I enjoyed most of the wines along with the prices which ranged between R60 and R80. It’s a very nice place to visit and a great addition to the Elim valley.
Beautiful estate; love the setting. White Bordeaux blend is very nice!
After zipping past the winery so many times I had time to stop and enjoy the wines, people, dogs and food today. Friendly personal service and you can spend the day watching Overberg life goes by. I had to bring back some White Pearl – a semillon/sauv blend. The pool is not a water feature it is there for swimming! I can’t wait for the oysters & sauvignon on boxing day.
We had a lovely tasting here ,I particularly enjoyed their 2008 Rosé which went down an absolute treat with the beautiful mixed platter of breads ,conserves and olives. The smell of the finest sweet basil plants I ever seen pervades the garden and my son just loved the big flat garden although I had to wip him out of the pool! I suppose I would suggest a Pool cover
I suggest this is a wonderful stop for lunch and a tasting after you visit the Elim Church http://twitpic.com/2fkqyv and village. http://twitpic.com/2fkowr I really was fascinated by the little cottages and church. Super day out all finished off with a dip in the Ocean at Struisbaai with the Sting Rays yikes !!!:-)
Friendly place with good wines. Worth a visit.
