Red wines served at wrong temperature, it didn’t do the wines any good!

Nederlandse toeristen in de wijnlanden: deze winery is een must to see and taste!! South Africa, we love you!

This is a nice winery. We enjoyed a wine tasting and cheese tasting here. We also ate at the restaurant for lunch. The cheese was fantastic, wine was average, and food at the restaurant was very nice. Since the last time I have been here, you now can’t taste the wine while sitting at the restaurant, which is a bummer. So we had to order food, go back to the tasting room and taste the white wines, then go eat, and then back to the tasting room for the reds. Mission. The most infuriating thing for me at any restaurant on a wine farm is that you have to pay so much more at their own restaurant for the same wine 20 meters away. I don’t care if the restaurant is not run by the farm, visitors don’t have to know the business details, it just looks bad for the estate and there is no way I am going to buy a bottle of wine from the restaurant at a higher cost. That said, the food was SO AWESOME I had to forgive them for upsetting me with the winelist prices.

As for the wines….. the wines are great, but every one of them were so warm, which really just brings through the high alcohols and tannins way more than they actually are. Friendly host and reasonalble price of R25 for tasting and we tasted EVERYTHING, about 14 wines!!

Get a fridge that works!!

My favourite! I really liked the laid back setting, and the fact that you get served. We had a lovely time. The presentation of the cheese was beautiful, and combined with the enthusiastic staaf, made the perfect wine-tasting experience!

This has to be one of my favourite spots in this area. The wine is delicious and the tastings are hosted by enthusiastic passionate staff and sometimes the winemaker and owners pop in too. Sit next to a cosy fireplace and enjoy a cheese platter from the Anura cheese range. I take friends here when I can as the cellar tours are just great. Arrive at Anura and feel like a wine drinker, not another visitor. Can be busy at times, but then pop into the lovely restaurant.

Awesome wooded Chardonnay, beautiful Malbec, great cheese, warm cozy fireplace in winter, very friendly staff! We bring every single guest we have here as a matter of course, when we take them on a wine tour. And we make this either a first or last stop every time on our own personal wine tours as well.

Really enjoyed the experience. Cool inside on a very hot afternoon, relaxed pleasant vibe. Wonderful friendly service in the tasting room from an employee on day 3 of a new job – he already had an impressive grasp of what he was offering. The cheese was a nice way to end the tasting. Liked the Sauv b from Darling vineyards, pleasantly surprised by the Pinotage and the Malbec. Sangiovese also quite special. All round good experience. Oh and good luck with the harvest – which is apparently starting this week with Pinot Noir for the bubbly!

I went to Anura on a dark and stormy day and the experience was AMAZING!!! We entered into the Tasting Room we were welcomed by smiling faces and made comfy in front of the fire place. I asked our host if I could taste the Petit Verdot (not for tasting) and he informed me that he would see if there was an open bottle… When I looked over my sholder, I saw him open a bottle especially for me. That made my experience worth while and proved that Anura is set on customer satisfaction… Two BIG thumbs up!!!

We found a gem! Situated between Paarl and Stellenbosch Anura is a beautiful wine farm with a great aura.

Our host was Emmie. She was super duper frriendly and made our time there very enjoyable. They can definitely give Fairview a run for their money with amazing and extremely affordable cheeses. We enjoyed our tasting with some Forest Hill Ayrshire Brie, Camembert and Brie with fig alongside some orange, sweet chilli and fig preserves. All the cheese are produced on the farm by a Swiss cheese maker. Our outside table made us feel part of the vineyards and valley around us, and the great wine made us more than tipsy! So going back!
