The new tasting room looks amazing. I really enjoyed the wines. The Cabernet Franc / Merlot blend was very impressive.
We had a very pleasant experience. The chocolate and wine pairing was interesting and I enjoyed the Winmaker’s Selection range of wines. Good MCC, Chardonnay and Syrah.
I have found my favourite Sit-and-Sip bubbly spot! We’ve made an impulsive discussion to turn into Chabivin and we were very impressed! It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and we savoured it with a bottle of the Mademoiselle Mégane and a combination platter of meats and cheeses.
Great wines and fantastic olives!. I particularly loved the Lourens River Valley 2008. The wines are well balanced and elegant. Be sure not miss the Nabucco (Nebbiolo, Merlot, Petit Verdot blend).
The staff was very informative and I’ve learnt quite a few things about the different type of olives.
Well done!
To my regret I just stopped in for a quick tasting. Creation Wines offers great wines, beautiful views and informative staff (Neldi was our wine tasting assistant). I was jealously eyeing the food and wine pairings the other wine tasters were enjoying.
I’m definitely coming back for those food and wine pairing platters.
Dean was a great help, very informative and welcoming. Tasted the 2 Pinot Noirs and both were delightful. I very much enjoyed the Full Stop Rock Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre.
I had a tranquil tasting sitting on the deck of the gazebo situated on the lake. The view of the surrounding mountains are breath taking. I loved the Pepin Conde Sauvingnon from Elgin grapes as well as the Estate Cabernet.
Beautiful Estate with a stunning tasting room.
I particularly loved the Grand Vin Chard and the Glass Collection Unwooded Chardonnay is a steal at R60.00 per bottle!
I’ll definitely be back for a cellar tour.
We had a delightful tasting; the wines were all of fantastic value! The tasting room is a combination of modern design inside an old cement wine tank.
The droëwors and biltong wine pairing at R40.00 for 6 wines each matched with different meats is WELL worth it.
I’m definitely coming back to stock up on that Stellenbosch Hills Cabernet and the Shiraz!
We received a warm welcome by the Tasting Room Manager, Chantel, as we were led outside for a tasting at their beautiful new tasting room. Andrew, the Commercial Manager at Eagles Nest, came to join us later for a wonderful personal tasting of their wines. The Viognier was excellent as well as the Verreaux and I walked out with a couple of bottles of the Little Eagle a brilliantly priced Merlot, Cab, Petit Verdot blend.
Since Eagle’s Nest is also part of the Raptor Research Program, it was magical to taste the wines and hear the calls of the raptors above taste their wines. I’ll be back soon enough!
The Semillon intrigued me as well as the Constantia White and Red blend. I got myself a bottle of each to see how they will age in a few years time. The Red Muscat was quite a surprise (I expected a sticky sweet wine) a delightfully fruity and light dessert wine.
Be it either your first or the final stop on the Constantia Wine Route, Steenberg leaves a lasting impression. I was mightily impressed by the friendly reception we received as we entered the tasting room (and what better way to start a tasting than with the 1682 Blanc de Blanc!) The farm offers great service without being too formal. The tasted the new HMS range of which the HMS Sphynx (a lightly wooded Chard) as my favourite between the two. I’ll be back again soon, that Nebbiolo is calling my name!
I very much enjoyed the Gewurztraminer and the Weisser Riesling NLH. Both wines expressed wonderful fruit and character. The fresh acidity cuts perfectly through the sweetness.
It’s a great boutique wine farm. I’ve tasted the wines when I went to the Franschhoek Uncorked Festival in September. Even though it was buzzing with people sitting on the hay bales, tasting wine and listening to the live Jazz, Guy Kedian made me feel right at home with a personal tasting. They produce a super Chenin Blanc and a fantastic Shiraz. I can’t wait to get my hands on the Viognier though, only 1 barrel was made and there are only a couple of bottles left! I will definitely visit the farm again next time I am in Franshhoek.
Loved the farm. Could sit on the stoep all day and drink wine. I loved both the Chenins and the Mourvèdre. Siska was very friendly and infromative. Pretty good Pinotage as well (coming from a non-Pinotage drinker…)
