Like Stefan’s comment below, I enjoyed the experience. Just wish they would redo their bathrooms… Beautiful presentation of bought product.
Did enjoy their Pinotage (which surprisingly doesn’t feature anywhere below) and Savignon Blanc Reserve. Sadly our hostess did the experience no justice and the farm may well have supplied a tape recorder to each table.
In a nutshell, lovely service, great setting, average wines.
I am in love with Bin 159… I find their Cab Sav’s truly fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed their tasting experience (Peter and Rose).
The restaurant was well priced and the food was superb, though I felt the service slightly lacking. Availability of certain items on the menu was also on the problem- my guest ordered 3 times before the kitchen could accommodate her selection from their a la carte.
Or is it Nigel?
Great Syrah too… They ran a great special lasy year- their ’05 Shiraz at R 20 a bottle… Only shelved for a year, but a great value wine
3rd time round for me, loved it as ever… The J is probably the best value-for-money white blend out there at the moment.
Neville, Joy and the lovely young lady who chats candidly about village life and everything else made this a great experience!
The most epically awesome wine farm in the history of wine farms! It’s not pretentious, not over priced, not over commercialised and not impersonal!
All the nice things said about Guy are true (even though he was nursing a major from the night before)- we ended up going for dinner after what was for me, undoubtedly the best wine farm experience I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying!
